The Picksix: Nuggets heating up

Denver (-4.5) over CHARLOTTE -- The Nuggets have won four of five to start the new year, and they are winning convincingly, with the last three coming by double-digits. Though the 'Cats have battled hard as of late, they won't get it done tonight.

BOSTON (-13.5) over Washington -- After a week filled with losses to the Bobcats and Wiz sandwiched around a moderately sloppy victory in Jersey, some Celts loyalists are already acting like the apocalypse is upon us. And the team is 30-5. They will spank Washington in the back end of a home and home tonight.

Portland over NEW JERSEY (-4.5) -- Despite the loss to Toronto yesterday, we're not hopping off this Blazer wagon any time soon.

Philadelphia over SAN ANTONIO (-13.5) -- Too many points for a San Antonio team that doesn't care if it wins by one or one hundred.

UTAH (-9.5) over Milwaukee -- Despite not covering against the Magic, the Jazz improved to 15-3 at home on Saturday night, and they should dominate a weary Bucks team finishing up a stretch of three games in four days out west.

SACRAMENTO over Dallas (-4.5) -- Kevin Martin was excellent in his return on Saturday, and his presence along with the rabid Arco crowd should allow the Kings to hang in with a Dallas team that suddenly finds itself seated atop the Western Conference.

LA Lakers (-7.5) over SEATTLE -- The Lakers are a lot better than the Sonics. Sometimes, it really is that simple.

Last night: 2-4
Season: 290-256
