The Picksix: Another loss for D-Ho

Dwight Howard went for 31 points and 20 rebounds in a loss last night for the Magic. That is what we like to see: More great performances from D-Ho combined with losses for the team that might be the Celts’ toughest competition in the East. Good work all around. Besides, you know, us covering the spread. On to the Sunday games:

DETROIT (-5.5) over Golden State – The Warriors have come back to Earth a bit after their torrid start upon Stephen Jackson’s return. The Pistons are playing very solid basketball as of late.

Boston (-1.5) over TORONTO – Despite Ray Allen sitting, this group should be able to beat an up-and-down Raptors unit for the third time this season.

Portland over DENVER (-9.5) – Acks can scream “Ping pong ball!” all he wants, but the Blazers have now won six in a row. And we may have failed to cover all six. Let’s try taking the points here.

LA LAKERS (-8.5) over LA Clippers – The purple floor paint at Staples Center tonight should make all the difference. Check back here later in case of an injury update on Kobe Bryant, currently a question mark for tonight due to a strained groin.

Last night: 6-5
Season: 174-175
