The Picksix: Unimpressed with Cleveland

So we establish the new NYK Doctrine yesterday, and the Knicks wipe out Cleveland at the Garden. Go figure.

As for watching the Cavs last night, Green Bandwagon’s Jim Weeks said it best recently after a Celtics-Cavs game in November:

“I found myself saying, "Wow the other Cavs are a lot better than I realized." Then LeBron sat down for a stretch. Whole different story.”

Yep, that’s the Cavs for you. They are quickly reaching a point where it isn’t enough for LeBron to simply have a very good night, even by his standards. He needs to be otherworldly in order for this team to win. And even for him, that might be a bit too much to ask.

New Jersey over MIAMI (-5.5) – When both sides are unappealing, taking the points seems like the way to go.

LA Lakers over CLEVELAND (-2.5) – See above. The Lakers continue to play very solid basketball, and Kobe will take the battle with Bron tonight.

Houston over DENVER (-3.5) – Of two inconsistent and enigmatic teams, we’ll take the one that is getting the points and the one that also shellacked the other by 28 earlier in the season.

Last night: 8-5
Season: 194-183
