The Picksix: Nugs hangin' in

Denver over DETROIT (-6.5) -- The Nuggets are headed toward one of the best records in franchise history, and they are fighting for their playoff lives in the absurd Western Conference. This game means far more to them than to the Pistons, and they should at least be able to hang around as a result.

Miami over MILWAUKEE (-10.5) -- Milwaukee is basketball's worst defensive team, and the Bucks are banged up to boot. We'll pass on giving the points.

New Jersey over CHICAGO (-4.5) -- We're back to making Hicag beat us.

LA Lakers over DALLAS (-4.5) -- The Mavs are getting lots of props for going 5-0 since Jerry Stackhouse entered the line-up, but they have yet to play a playoff-bound team in that span. It's worth remembering that the Lakers weren't too shabby before Pau Gasol came to town in the first place.

Boston over HOUSTON (-3.5) -- The streak ends here.

Golden State (-0.5) over SACRAMENTO
Phoenix (-2.5) over PORTLAND
-- Sometimes we just take teams because they are much better at basketball than are their opponents.

Last night: 5-3
Season: 513-485
